Donatella Versace has an eye for beauty

MILAN, ITALY — When you hear the name “Versace” you think of beauty. Donatella Versace wants you to also think of intelligence and personality.

“Beauty is overrated”, stated Versace. “The tiniest grain of human thought simply crushes the trivial, superficial world of fashion in terms of genuine attractiveness”.

“All people, particularly young, fit men in their 30′s to early ’40′s who live in or around the Milan area, should live by this belief”.

Given the above, it’s no shock that Donatella’s recent attempt at fashion design appears to further tip the scale away from the “overrated” side.

“You see,”, she continued, “I, how you say, adore the power of intelligence. By comparison, it has a way of reducing the glitz of fashion to nothingness”.

Versace points out that the objective of her latest designs is to inject personality into the entire range. “I’ve often heard critics describe my recent works as if they had their own distinct personality.”

Clearly, Versace is attempting to seize forbearance of a yet unseen trend – one which places both intelligence and personality far above beauty.

“You may possess an entire wardrobe of clothing based only on beauty. You may wrap yourself in this clothing, stroke it with your hand, even caress it with your lips. But, if it lacks personality, it will not stand the test of time. Beauty alone is certainly a fleeting thing”.

Added Versace, “Oh, and not living in or around the Milan area isn’t really a, how you say, deal breaker”.
