Local man battles aging disease
LANGLEY, VA — Curtis Clarke has heard it all over his 43 years. The teasing, laughing and general meanness of others are constant reminders that Clarke is a victim of andiscoliosis.
The disease, which prevents the body from engaging in a normal aging process, has often resulted in periods of depression and outright anger. “I can’t count how may times I’ve been asked for my ID”, said Clarke – even when I tried out for Little League. The coach thought I was too young ’cause my diapers sort of got in the way of my jock strap”.
“And dating”, added Clarke, “was brutal. Sure, some chicks tried to encourage me, telling me I had a cute ‘baby face’. And while on dinner dates, some girls would even offer to mush up my peas for me.
But I could tell it was more out of pity than anything else.”
Through the years however, Clarke has managed to carve out an interesting life. He is a successful defense attorney for high profile clients in the D.C. area.
Best remembered for his defense of Chad Clayborn, D – Iowa, Clarke won an appeal by looking straight into the eyes of the judge and holding his breathe until he began to turn blue.
